Hickoree’s, the curiously-curated and always excellent online shop run by brothers(and good friends of mine) Emil and Sandy Corsillo, has just today opened its first bricks-and-mortar shop in the South Williamsburg section of Brooklyn.
It’s one flight up, just below their office on the third floor from which Sandy and Emil have run both Hickoree’s and The Hill-Side for the past few years and just above favorite watering hole, Gordon Bennett at street level. Upstairs, you’ll find all the ‘practical and persuasive’ wares Hickoree’s has become well known for, from GIANT doorstops to Solmate Socks, wiffle ball bats to Blue Cow Soap. There’s also a slew of new products yet to find their way online; classicly-inspired, outdoor-ready parkas by the relatively new Owner/Operator, new packs from Epperson Mountaineering, tents by Poler and the fresh outta the box, wonderfully-fitting Hickoree’s + Fair Ends fitted wool caps(two color-ways, both of which I had to get). For those of you outside the NYC area, don’t worry, it’ll all be online soon. The shop will continue to evolve in phases over the coming weeks as elements are built, things dialed in and everything settles into place. If you’re in the area, stop in, say hey and welcome Hickoree’s to the neighborhood/real world.

If there is any sense in this world this will be a hit.
The rainbow backpack reminds me of an old art school chum I miss.
See you on my next NY trip.
Best wishes on your new venture.
The photos and products look terrific!
