THEN & NOW : THE APOLIS INDIGO CHORE COAT.

Almost two years to the day of receiving it and no worse for the wear, the Apolis indigo wool chore coat. Then and now.

Surely counted among the most ubiquitous items in the #menswear world, it’s not without good reason. This has come to be a mainstay, a consistent go-to. The indigo wool worn in and faded like any favorite pair of jeans making it one of those items in your closet (if, in fact, you ever even hang it up) that becomes unique and personal to each wearer. Hard to convey in photos is the subtle way this coat wears and breaks in. Harder to convey is how the wool itself feels and breaks in over the years. How it takes on your shape like your old favorite Barbour. This is one of the new classics. A new standard. And now, an old favorite.

Tried this on (again) in their shop last week. From fit to fabrication, they have created a classic. Hands down, this is one of the best three-season jackets out there.

Such an unparalleled and din stint garment. #iniform

Wow. Amazing jacket. The picture at the very top comparing the jacket side by side shows a dramatic color difference. Did you use a flash in that shot?

right photo is taken from my instagram and has been filtered. The actual wear is better represented in the photos that follow.

    Proves that quality pays

Looks great. Don’t forget to have it dry cleaned once in a while, though…dirt can abrade the wool fibers. I’ve also found that brushing wool coats every couple of wears keeps them looking good.

Can you comment on the sizing for this coat? From the apolis
site it seems to run a size small.
    Thanks.

      Colin,
In my opinion, it runs a size big. Mine is a small and I could easily fit into an XS. Like most of Apolis cuts, its broader in the shoulder and narrower in the torso. Hope that helps.

    Very helpful, thanks!

  8. Johnny Witherspoon says:

Does this jacket work in the spring?

  9. Guido says:

I have been hand washing mine in cold water once in a while (2 years since I got it), and it looks superb.

  10. Michael T says:

How does this hold up in the rain? Does it absorb it like a sponge or hold up pretty well?

I’m trying to decide between this an a soy wax Filson…

    Thanks!
